Your Scout Elf friend has created five easy ideas to say a merry and bright “goodbye … until next year”! They’re so excited to show your family the many places they’ll travel when they aren’t enjoying the coziness of your home, they may encourage children to write a letter to Santa the night before Christmas or they may host a Christmas carnival as a celebratory send-off.
Moving Day

“It’s time for me to move back to the North Pole. See you next year!”
Materials:
- Color printer
- Copy paper/card stock
- Printable
- Small boxes or bags
- String
- Toy truck or car
Instructions:
- First, your Scout Elf helper will load all their boxes into their vehicle.
- Second, they will use string to tie things down so nothing blows away on their journey to the North Pole!
- Third, they will print and cut out the printable message card letting kids know that it’s time for them to go … until next year!

Travel Scrapbook

“Check out the many places I’ll go before I see you again next year!”
Materials:
- Color printer
- Copy paper/card stock
- Printable photos
- Scissors
Instructions:
- To begin, your Scout Elf pal will print, cut out and set up their travel photos on the table, in a frame or in a scrapbook where kids can see.
- Next, kids can flip through the images to get an idea of what Santa’s Scout Elf crew does throughout the year after they’ve departed from your family’s home.

Magical Letters

“You’re such a great writer. Santa will love this!”
Materials:
- Color printer
- Cardstock/copy paper
- Printable
- Scissors
Instructions:
- Your Scout Elf helper will begin by printing, cutting out and setting up the printable where kids will find it.
- Then they will encourage kids to write their own magical letter that your elf will take with them to the North Pole!

“Beam Me Up, Santa!”

“One of the quickest ways to get from here to the North Pole!”
Materials:
- Aluminum foil
- Fishing line or string
- Hanging lamp
Instructions:
- First, your Scout Elf pal will pick the perfect hanging light in your home to decorate like a UFO!
- Second, they will wrap one sheet of aluminum foil around the outside of the light.
- Third, they will use fishing line or neutral-colored string and tie one end around the light and the other end around their waist to make it look like they’re floating below it!

Celebratory Send-Off

So many exciting things to do and see at the Christmas Carnival!
Materials:
- Color printer
- Card stock/copy paper
- Printables
- Straws, skewers, or pipe cleaners
- Tape
- Marshmallows
Instructions:
- First, your Scout Elf friend will print and cut out each of the carnival printables.
- Second, they will find straws, skewers or pipe cleaners and tape them to the sides of the printables as standing devices.
- Third, they will anchor the standing devices into large marshmallows to stand the printables upright.
- Finally, they will cut out any extra toys or prize printables that they like and host an extravaganzalorious Christmas carnival to celebrate their arrival!
