Elf Mates Career Day

Elf Mates fun can begin for your family with a Career Day mini showcase. The Elf Mates can set up a tiny office scene displaying some of the tools of their trades: a mini whisk and mixing bowl for the Chef; mini tools for the Toy Maker, and shoestrings, fabric and scissors for the Cobbler. They’ll hold signs declaring their skills: “Expert Baker of Holiday Treats,” “Master Toy Creator,” and “Crafter of Clothing & More.” Kids can take turns brainstorming practical ways each of the Elf Mates can use their skills to spread kindness and generosity as community helpers. It’s a great way to get to know their roles while having a bit of interactive fun!

Family Action: Your family can choose one of the ideas your children brainstormed and do it together, such as gather unused toys for donation, or sharing extra canned goods with a food bank.

The Elf Mates Road Trip

Imagine the Elf Mates cruising down the candy-cane highway, road-trip style! Your elf could set up a mini car (a toy convertible works great) with tiny suitcases and a “Human World or Bust” sign. They can craft a note saying that the Elf Mates have traveled far and wide to join your family to spread Christmas cheer. It’s a playful way for the Elf Mates to introduce themselves.

For extra fun: They can add a mini map with “stops” they’ve made on their way from the North Pole to your house. Maybe they picked up some magical souvenirs along the way!

  • Mini Marshmallow Snowmen – From the “Snowflake Cafe,” perfect for hot cocoa
  • Candy Cane Sunglasses – From Mrs. Claus Couture Shop–stylish and sweet!
  • Elf-Size Chef Hats – Bought at the “Baking Station,” so they’re ready for cookie duty
  • Tiny Toy Hammers – Picked up at the “Toy Workshop” for any last-minute toy repairs
  • Pine Tree Pastries – From the “Christmas Bakery,” small cakes in the shape of a Christmas tree
  • Mini Pinecone Charms – From the “Enchanted Forest,” for a touch of nature
  • Tiny Nutcracker Dolls – From “Toy Parade,” to help guard Christmas treasures
  • Tiny Scarves with Peppermint Stripes – Picked up at the “Candy Cane Knit Shop,” perfect for chilly nights
  • Lollipops Shaped Like Santa’s Beard – From “Jolly Pop Factory,” a sweet reminder of the big guy!
  • Miniature Stockings – Grabbed at the “Tiny Sock Emporium,” just in case they find some little gifts

Family Action: Kids can create their own map of 3-5 homes in their neighborhood where they want to deliver some Christmas cheer just like the Elf Mates. Small candies, homemade baked goods or brightly decorated cocoa packets make great holiday gifts and are a perfect way to extend season’s greetings to your neighbors

Elf Mates Spa Day

Before your Elf Mates get to work, they might need a little pampering. In which case they might set up a cozy mini spa with tiny towels, paper cucumber slices, and a bowl of “snowball soak” (cotton balls or marshmallows), and leave a note explaining, “The Elf Mates are recharging with a spa day so they can amp up extra fun this season! You should try it too!” After all, self-care is an act of kindness!

Family Action: Create a Family Care Time to encourage the idea of being kind to yourselves! Set up a relaxing area in your home with blankets, pillows, and soft lighting. Choose a calming app for a quiet story time or select a LoFi music playlist. After your quiet care time, take a few moments to share what everyone enjoyed most and how it felt to take that time for themselves. This approach allows families to recharge together while fostering a positive, self-compassionate atmosphere!

Elf Mates Craft Fair

Ready for the cutest mini craft show of the year with the BIGGEST delight—right in your living room? Your elves will set up booths to show off their unique and individual talents. The Chef might hold a tiny spatula and showcase a batch of sweet kid-sized treats, the Toy Maker might hold a mini hammer and leave a trinket or toy each kid might enjoy, and the Cobbler might craft up some new threads—Christmas socks are a favorite. They always leave a note inviting the family to enjoy the Elf Mates’ talents and gifts before encouraging the kids to get to work crafting their own holiday cheer.

Family Action: Family members can choose one of their own talents and create a crafty or homemade gift for a family member or neighbor.

Elf Mates Emergency Repair Crew

Did a toy break, or is there a shoe that needs fixing? Time to call in the Elf Mates! They might stage a mini “work zone” with tiny construction hats, tools, and “Caution: Holiday Magic at Work!” signs. They love messaging like, “The Elf Mates are on duty! Let us know what needs to be repaired, and we’ll take care of it!” It’s an engaging way for the elves to introduce themselves as hardworking helpers ready to tackle any task. The elves can leave a paper or notepad for kids to leave notes telling the Elf Mates what needs to be fixed. Then, off to the North Pole the broken items go for “emergency repairs.” Remember the Elf Mates can’t fly like The Elf on the Shelf so be sure they get to and from through the Santaverse ™ Elf Door.

Family Action: Once broken toys are repaired but are no longer played with, consider donating them to a children’s charity. Or buy new toys to donate that will provide extra cheers and giggles for children who need them this Christmas season.
