New Year’s Day Good Luck Meal
Scout Elves know that many families eat traditional foods each New Year’s Day. Get a taste of North Pole luck with the Scout Elves’ sweet New Year’s Day meal!
Materials:
- Jellybeans
- Yellow or vanilla sheet cake
- Moldable green candies
Instructions:
- Your elf will begin by laying out all their favorite ingredients for a deliciously sweet “meal”.
- Next, they will arrange all the sweets to mimic traditional New Year’s foods.
- Finally, enjoy the sweets and the good luck you’ll have all through the year!

Growth Chart Wall
Record how tall you are at the beginning and end of 2023!
Materials:
- Wall or door frame of your choosing
- Color printer
- Cardstock/copy paper
- Printable
- Scissors
Instructions:
- Your elf will begin by printing and setting out the printable and cute message card!
- Then they will help kids pick out a wall or door frame eligible for a few pencil markings.
- Next, kids will back up to the wall while you help to draw a line equal with the tippy top of their head!
- Finally, keep the measurements going each season when your elf journeys back to your home for Christmas!

Party Poppers
This party is POPPIN’!
Materials:
- Cardboard tube
- Leftover Christmas wrapping paper
- Balloons
- Tape (bonus if it’s decorative!)
- Confetti
Instructions:
- To begin, your elf will lay out all the materials needed to craft the party poppers.
- Then, kids will tape or glue leftover wrapping paper from Christmas around the empty cardboard tube.
- Next, kids will go ahead and tie the mouthpiece of the balloon into a knot as if it were already blown up.
- Then with your help, kids will cut a tiny hole at the top of a balloon and stretch it open to insert the cardboard tube into the hole and tape the cut edges onto the cardboard tube to secure.
- Finally, add confetti to the tube and pull the knotted end of the balloon to POP!

DIY Party Hats
“On a list of our favorites, this New Year’s party hat sits right on top!”
Materials:
- Color printer
- Cardstock/copy paper
- Printable
- Scissors
- Decorative ribbon
- Pom-poms
- Adhesive
Instructions:
- First, your Scout Elf will print, cut, prepare and wear their elf-sized party hats.
- Then kids will fold card stock or copy paper into a cone to wear on their own heads!
- Decorate your party hats as you please and get ready to ring in the new year!

Make Your Own Time Capsule
Remember all the good times!
Materials:
- Container (e.g., jar or shoe box)
- Color printer
- Cardstock/copy paper
- Printable
- Scissors
Instructions:
- To begin, your elf will print, cut and lay out the printable message card and activity sheet.
- Next, kids will gather up memorable items that they’ll want to treasure forever!
- Finally, kids will place their items in a container, fill out the activity sheet and place their DIY time capsule in a secret hiding spot for safe keeping until they revisit it at the end of the year!
