Snowball Target Practice

Have a ball, North Pole-style!

Materials:

  • Green craft paper
  • Red letter stickers
  • Cotton balls
  • Macrame hoop
  • Adhesive dots
  • Scissors
  • Decorative trim such as eyelash-trim fringe
  • White acrylic paint

Instructions:

  1. From the craft paper, your elf will cut a circle the size of the macrame hoop. They will cut a smaller shape inside the larger circle to make a target hole.
  2. Next, they will attach the circle to the hoop, using adhesive dots along the edges.
  3. Then, they will decorate the outside edge of the hoop and the inside edge of the target hole with a decorative trim, adhering it with the dots.
  4. Next, your Scout Elf will place the letters around the target hole to spell out SNOWBALL PRACTICE on the frontside, and SPLAT! on the backside.
  5. They will use one of the cotton balls and a small dab of the white acrylic paint to make snowball splats around the target hole, on both the front and back.
  6. Next, they may decide to hang the target from an object, such as a cabinet, by first looping the decorative trim around the hoop and tying it into a long loop. Hanging the target might make the target spin!
  7. After this, they will surround themselves with cotton balls and wait for you to find them in action.
  8. Finally, they will watch as you try your hand at landing the snowballs inside the target hole. It’s not as easy as it looks!
